Anni dopo, le ho completate
Sono nato all’inizio degli anni ‘60 in un piccolo villaggio kurdo. Subito dopo la mia nascita la mia famiglia si è trasferita a Istanbul.
Nel 1988 sono venuto a Vienna, in un mondo molto diverso da quello che conoscevo, popolato di strane persone e con un altro senso della realtà. Mi sono posto a dispozione del tempo, che facesse ciò che riteneva necessario.
Dalla metà degli anni ‘90 ho presentato i miei lavori in diverse esibizioni. A questo punto, tutto, tranne me stesso, era sotto controllo. Lavoro sui temi dell’identità, del razzismo, dell’alienazione. Avendo sviluppato un amore per gli spazi pubblici, siano essei strade, viuzze, piazza, mezzi di trasporto, racconto strane storie sulla città cercando di trasformare i suoi angoli scuri in luminosi. Nelle mie performance sono stato un poliziotto che controllava i documenti, ho fatto esplodere sculture raffiguranti eroi, eretto confini in campi aperti, ho lottato per gli attivisti per i diritti umani, perchè la mia arte fosse politica e ho scritto chat senza elettricità o web…
Da dieci anni a questa parte non mi è permesso rientrare in Turchia perchè ‘ho dimenticato’ di fare il militare. Dal 2003 vivo al Friedrichshof, dobve in questo momento, il tempo immobile, siedo sotto un albero preparando il caffè per i miei compagni.
